There are several scales used for this included on the SCL-90-R, BHI-2, and
MMPI, but in lieu of formal testing, there are tests which may be taken in the
office requiring only a few minutes.
The Zung test is usually administered by a nurse or the physician by
speaking the questions to the patient and scoring the test immediately. It is
one of the most widely used evaluative tools.
There are several others including the Hamilton test online and many
pseudoscientific tests. I have included the pdf for ZUNG for your use.
