Journal of Pain: American Pain Society Journal.   Largely a
basic science research and psychological journal of limited use
to the practicing interventional pain physician . However, the
best basic research in pain is found in this journal and may
predict later clinical techniques.

Clinical Journal of Pain: The official journal of the Eastern Pain Association, one of
the US affiliates of the American Pain Society.  This is another journal with special
interest relevant to psychologists and physical therapists with less emphasis on clinical
pain medicine by physicians.  The journal is dominated by psychiatric and PT theory.
Therefore, the ratings of this journal are identical to that of the APS journal except there
seems to be more useful functional restoration material.

Pain Management Nursing is the
official journal of ASPN.  At this
early phase of its existence, it may
be less clinically useful than in the
future, and is dominated by
university nurses.
The Journal Pain Practitioner is included here only in case physicians become confused and
actually subscribe to it.  It is the official journal of the American Academy of Pain Management,
and has articles by every type of alternative medicine and holistic non-physician known
including "Naturopathic Doctors" teaching non physicians how to give injections of prolotherapy,
IV minerals, IV vitamin concoctions, etc.  It is filled with articles by chiropractors, psychologists,
physical therapists, dentists, and PAs with very few articles by physicians.  This journal
represents the extreme outlier in an attempt to treat pain ranging from the unorthodox to the
bizarre, but is consistent with the Academy's philosophical tilt.  This is the official journal of a
society that "certifies" CRNAs (nurses) to perform pain management that the nurses then use to
justify their use of interventional invasive pain medicine techniques.
